Meet Cam 👋🏼 Cam started his apprenticeship in October 2018 as a 25 year old and at the time wasn’t sure if he was too late in life to be an apprentice! Turns out it was the best decision Cam ever made. Cam has now been in the industry for 4 years and just become Lee Groups newest tradesman! Cam wouldn’t say he has a specialty in anything in particular yet, but he has taken a keen interest in the domestic side of the trade, as the bulk of his apprenticeship has been doing this 🏠. His favourite part about being an electrician is the job satisfaction it brings. It’s something he is proud to say he does for a living. Two random facts about Cam is, "My second toe is longer than my big toe and I am Richies favourite apprentice! Winter Electrical Hazards ⚠️ As we are now in winter, it's important to be aware of any potential electrical hazards. Here are some top tips when it comes to electrical appliances during winter. 1. When using electric blankets try to ensure there is nothing heavy resting on top of the blanket. This helps to eliminate the likelihood of wiring damage or the blanket overheating 2. If you are using space heaters, make sure that the placement of the heater is appropriate. Try and keep at least a one-metre space between the heater and bedding, clothing, toys, curtains etc. Also, make sure that you are unplugging heaters when you are leaving the room. 3. Make sure to check your smoke alarms are in working condition. Getting in the habit of checking your smoke alarms every 1 - 2 months is a good way to ensure the working order of the alarms.
